Itinerary -


Day 01 : Dehradun – Viraatkhai – Dasrathka Danda - Lodge (Drive / 85 kms / 3 hrs)

    Assemble at Dehradun & be driven upto Viraatkhai.
    On reaching Viraatkhai, check into the lodge.
    Post lunch; head out for a Trek to Dasrath Ka Danda.
    Soak up the majestic views of Great Himalayan peak like Bandarpoonch.
    Witness the breath taking sunset on your way back to Viraatkhai.
    Overnight in the lodge.

Day 02 : Viraatkhai – Tiger Falls (Drive 2 hrs) – Chaurani (1.5 - 2 hrs) – Viraatkhai (20 mins)

    Post breakfast, head out to Tiger Falls.
    Enjoy a picnic lunch by the waterfall.
    Head out to Chaurani, in a 1 - 1 / 2 hour drive.
    Indulge in rope activities like Rappeling, Valley crossing, Tree Jumaring.
    In the afternoon drive back to the lodge.
    Evening rest & leisure.
    Overnight stay in the lodge.


Day 03 : Viraatkhai – Bhadraj – Nagthath - Gadol – Viraatkhai (Trek / 5 - 6 hrs)

    Wake up to the beautiful sunrise at Viraatkhai.
    Post breakfast head out for a full day trek to Bhadraj.
    Enjoythe views of cascading mountains & thick Deodar forests all along the way.
    From Gadol head down to Viraatkhai ridge.
    Return to the lodge by evening.
    Overnight stay in the lodge.


Day 04 : Viraatkhai – Yamuna Bridge (1 hrs) – Juddo (1 - 1.5 hrs) – Dehradun (2 hrs)

    Today head out to Yamuna Bridge for river & rope activities.
    Begin the day with Bridge Slithering, on the Yamuna Bridge.
    Try your hands at Kayaking around the still waters of Yamuna.
    Post Kayaking session we head out for a thrilling Rafting session.
    This 2 hours stretch ends at Juddo, with rapids of 2 & 3 grades.
    From Juddo head back to Dehradun in 3 hours drive.

It is very important for this adventure trip that you need to be equipped properly and with a bit of back up. Mountain/adventure travel requires one to be adequately equipped with the right kind of personal gear. Since one is travelling in the wilderness there will be hardly any opportunity to buy anything once you hit the trail so we urge you to carefully pack everything into your bags. Also please keep in mind you can rent out or purchase equipment from our Gear Store, if required.

Carry your stuff in a duffel bag, soft shoulder bag or a rucksack. Avoid suitcases, trolleys or any other hard luggage. As you will be walking long distances carrying a rucksack, avoid bringing unnecessary items on the trek. Please avoid carrying expensive watches, jewellery and electronic items on the trek.




Transport Options (Dehradun- Viraatkhai - Dehradun)

Viraatkhai is located 92 Kms from state Capital, Dehradun. For travel to the camp, a combination of train/air and road travel is recommended. The closest railway station to the camp is Haridwar and there are a number of trains that connect to Haridwar from all over the country. For train details, you could log on to www.indianrail.gov.inand for online railway ticket bookings you could log on to www.irctc.co.in. For air travel, the closest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport (at Dehradun) and is well connected to Delhi and other parts of the country by Air India, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, etc. If you require assistance in booking, do get in touch with us.

There are frequent Public Transport buses including Volvos available from Delhi to Haridwar that cost about Rs 500 - 700. These buses depart from Delhi ISBT every 30 mins. Or so and take about 4/5 hrs to cover the distance. The same is also applicable on the return journey. A private vehicle could also be arranged for if you require the same.


Weather Details

The temperature at Viraatkhai during summers & winters both are extreme. The lodge at Viraatkhai is at an altitude of 1850 m, where during summers the weather remains pleasant. The snow-clad Himalayan peaks which are distinctly visible during summers, are a treat to the eyes. A kaleidoscopic view can be seen from Chakrata during monsoon months. The monsoon months are from July to September and are the best time to experience the wilderness of nature. Chakrata receives snowfall during winters and heavy woolens are required. Snow-capped Himalayas are best seen from Chakrata during winters. Enjoy bonfires and barbeques in Chakrata during winter months.
